How Is A forehead lift Performed?

There are two main types of incisions used for a forehead lift. Nowadays your Plastic Surgeon will perform the procedure via small tiny incisions in the hairline with the help of an endoscope which is a small camera. Traditionally however a long cut was made extending from one ear, over the head, to the next ear. Very rarely with very large foreheads the incision is placed in front of the hairline.
The skin and the underlying structures are then lifted and pulled back and secured in the new higher position. The incisions are then closed.

Recovery Period

The recovery period for forehead lift surgery is between two to three weeks. One can be expected to return to routine work within this period. After two weeks most of the swelling and bruising will have resolved however swelling continues to improve over the next six weeks.
